The guardians of one-design
A one-design class is only possible thanks to the existence and initiative of owners clubs and national or international organizations.
The one-design BENETEAU yachts fall into two different programmes:
The FIGARO BENETEAU II: developed for the FIGARO owners class
The BENETEAU 25: complies with an ISAF (international) class rule.
A manufacturing success story
At BENETEAU, one-design is not only a real challenge, but also a real manufacturing success story, since the specification of a one-design (the aim being to produce racing boats that can compete on equal terms) reduces tolerances and imposes the need for very high levels of precision in production.
In 1996, Beneteau launched the Beneteau 25, a real rocket designed by Bruce Farr with the promise of an international future (the other builder of this one-design yacht being McDell Marine of New Zealand). The Beneteau 25 is a boat for dedicated amateurs, having established itself today as a definite reference: it is the only one-design boat to offer a truly European circuit.
